Description

Baked Feta pasta is a viral sensation, and for good reason! It's a simple, creamy, and utterly delicious pasta dish that originated from a Tiktok trend believe it or not.

The first time I tried this was when my husband made it for us and I instantly knew it was going to be a dinner staple in our home - the first bite I took I was hooked! The tangy feta, sweet tomatoes, and garlicky goodness mixed with the pasta... it was an explosion of flavors!

  1. Place the Feta block in the center of the cherry tomatoes.

  1. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, pepper flakes and oregano powder. Lightly drizzle the remainder olive oil over the Feta block and cherry tomatoes.

  1. Bake in the oven for 35 mins until the tomatoes are bursting and the Feta looks golden on top.

  1. Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta until al dente according to package directions.

Storage: store leftovers in a Tupperware. They will last about 5-7 days in the fridge.

Optional Additions: you can get creative with the recipe and your own spin to it. I have seen some videos where people add mushrooms, bell peppers, sliced chicken breasts or whatever protein you have on hand into the feta pasta.

Why Feta Pasta Works

Feta cheese has a bold, tangy flavor that adds depth to any dish. When roasted with tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil, it softens into a luscious, creamy sauce without needing cream or heavy cooking. The tomatoes release their juices, infusing the feta with sweetness and a hint of acidity that balances the richness. Tossed with pasta, garlic, herbs, and optional extras like olives, spinach, or red pepper flakes, this dish becomes a complete, satisfying meal.

The beauty of feta pasta lies in its simplicity and versatility:

  • Minimal ingredients, but maximum flavor.
  • Works with any short pasta like penne, fusilli, or farfalle.
  • Can be made vegetarian, or protein-packed by adding grilled chicken or shrimp.

Ingredients Overview

  • Feta cheese: The star of the dish, creating a creamy, tangy sauce.
  • Cherry tomatoes: Roasted to release natural sweetness and juiciness.
  • Olive oil and garlic: Build the base of flavor.
  • Pasta: The carrier for the sauce, absorbing every bit of creaminess.
  • Optional extras: Fresh herbs, olives, spinach, or chili flakes for added flavor and texture.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Quick and easy: Ready in about 30 minutes.
  • Crowd-pleaser: Creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet—a combination everyone loves.
  • Flexible: Customize with vegetables, proteins, or spices according to your taste.
  • Minimal cleanup: One block of feta, one tray of tomatoes, and one pot of pasta.

Serving Suggestions

  • Garnish with fresh basil, parsley, or a sprinkle of chili flakes for heat.
  • Serve with garlic bread or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
  • Pair with a crisp white wine for a dinner that feels elevated with minimal effort.

Tips for the Perfect Feta Pasta

  • Roast the feta and tomatoes together: Ensures the sauce is naturally creamy and flavorful.
  • Use good-quality olive oil: Enhances the overall taste and richness.
  • Reserve pasta water: Adding a splash can help make the sauce even silkier.
  • Don’t overcook pasta: Al dente texture helps the sauce cling better.

Feta pasta is proof that simple ingredients, roasted with care, can create something spectacular. It’s a perfect weeknight meal, a casual dinner for friends, or even a last-minute dish that feels indulgent without the fuss. Creamy, tangy, and bursting with flavor, feta pasta has earned its spot as a modern comfort food favorite.
