White Chocolate Oreo Covered Pretzels

Difficulty: Beginner Prep Time 15 mins Total Time 15 mins
Servings: 12

Description

Personally I have never been a huge fan of Oreos (I know you probably think I'm crazy) because I found them too sweet and they left an aftertaste in my mouth which I didn't love.

Despite my feelings about Oreos, a friend of mine had recently brought this delicious snack to a game night and I was found hovering over the bowl the entire night. There was something about this creation I loved, the exact combination of ingredients just spoke to me and overcame any issues I've had with Oreos before.

I'm being serious when I tell you that these are incredibly addictive so don't say I didn't warn you!

Instructions

  1. Pour the pretzels in a large mixing bowl and set aside.

  1. In a medium-sized microwave safe bowl combine the white chocolate chips and coconut oil then microwave in 30 second intervals, taking them out and stirring each time until they are fully melted.

  1. Pour the melted white chocolate over the pretzels and gently mix until combined.

Do this gently to ensure the pretzels don't break.
  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl stir together the powdered sugar and Oreo crumbs.

  1. Evenly sprinkle the Oreo and powdered sugar mixture over the chocolate covered pretzels and then toss to coat.

  2. Allow to rest for a couple of minutes before enjoying.

Note

Mess prevention - When crushing your Oreos, put them in a ziplock bag and roll or hit the ziplock bag to crush the cookies. The ziplock bag keeps the mess contained.

Holidays - To make these more festive you could add green, red and white sprinkles for Christmas or for Halloween you can also add purple and orange sprinkles.

Chocolate - If you aren't a fan of white chocolate you can use dark chocolate or milk chocolate.

Should I use salted or unsalted pretzels?

The choice is up to you. If you want a more balanced dessert use the salted (this is what I do) but if you want a healthier alternative or prefer a sweeter taste you can go with unsalted!
